Opening Session

President Kevin J Worthen will begin our time together by outlining BYU's fundraising successes and priorities.

PLC Lunch

Join other PLC members for lunch. Elder Tad R. Callister, emeritus general authority and former Sunday School general president, will share insights from his book Teaching with Power: Drawing Your Family and Others to Christ, which was coauthored by Sister Kathryn S. Callister and published in 2021.

Cougar Fan Fest ’22

BYU fans assemble! Invite your family to join you for dinner on the mall and fun festivities for all. There may even be Cosmo sightings!

BYU Entertainment Spectacular
7:00 p.m. | Marriott Center

Be astonished and inspired! This show will feature the amazing BYU Dunk Team and some of BYU’s premier performing groups: Young Ambassadors, Vocal Point, and Ballroom Dance Company.

Family Time
8:30 p.m. | Wilkinson Student Center

After the spectacular, stay on campus and play in the Wilkinson Student Center: go bowling, play ping-pong, or check out a board game. The Bowling and Games Center is open until 11:00 p.m.

Hike the Y for Breakfast
7:00 a.m. | Y Mountain Trailhead Parking Lot

Arise early and hike your way up to the big white Y. It’s a tradition, and a trail-worthy breakfast will be served at the trailhead before you begin your climb.

Breakfast on Campus

If you aren’t hiking the Y, start your day with a deluxe buffet breakfast prepared by BYU Dining Services. You’ll be glad you did because there’s a full morning of fun activities ahead!

President Worthen will share his thanks for what you do. Then Kory Katseanes will lead the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra for a 40-minute family-friendly concert. Afterward you and your family can visit onstage with the musicians.

Do you rush from activity to activity barely taking time to breathe? When you’re still, you can be fully present and more completely experience what you hear, see, and feel in that moment. Your guided tour of this exhibition in the Education in Zion gallery will include a meditation activity.

3D Art Immersion

With the help of a museum docent, learn about bronze casting and the artistic process of creating a sculpture, then create your own sculptural work of art.

Create a series of original prints with unique textures and designs using gelli plates, layered acrylic paint, and stencils.

Create your own print based on a personal photo using both printmaking and oil pastel transfer techniques. Please bring an 8x10 printout of a favorite photo to inspire your masterpiece!

Young Musicians' Academy

Toddlers and preschoolers will love listening, singing, playing instruments, and moving to the music. You’ll get to take home materials afterward so the fun can continue!

Citizen Science

Help the science community by becoming a citizen scientist. Led by a museum docent, you’ll spend time outside observing plants, birds, and insects and then submit what you’ve seen to the iNaturalist app or website.

Interact with a tarantula, play a game, and make a craft as you learn about animals that fly, live on the land, or live in the water.

See specimens and learn how organisms vie for survival in this unique biome. Along the way, discover ways you can become a better steward of the earth.

Scholars regularly conduct research using the more than 3 million specimens in the museum’s holdings. Come visit the plant, insect, and other collections and ask questions of curators and collection managers.

Build and launch your own rocket while learning some of the science behind rocketry and propulsion. This sky’s-the-limit activity is a blast!

Magic Chemistry Show—Including Nitro Ice Cream!

Ever wanted to don a surgical gown and medical gloves and help a hospital patient? Or use an otoscope to look in someone’s ear? Do these things and more at the College of Nursing’s hands-on learning activity.

Family Connections

Ages 8 and older

Help find 50 people who have been lost in the family tree of humanity and then learn how to keep growing your own family tree, all using tools built on artificial intelligence. This activity is hosted by the BYU Record Linking Lab.

Chip away rock to expose real dinosaur bones, tour the museum’s special collections, and ask a paleontologist your toughest questions.
